Confidence, communication, and calm — one connection at a time.
At RMER, we believe in the power of connection between people and horses. Our programs meet a range of ages and communities — from kids and first responders to schools and local partner organizations — through hands-on, experiential learning that builds self-awareness, resilience, and emotional well-being. Explore our programs below to find the right fit.
Sessions are led by at least one practitioner and one equine-facilitator to assure that everyone, human and equine, are as emotionally and physically safe as possible.
Unwind with Equines offers a fun, safe, and experiential environment for social-emotional growth and learning. Through activities and experiences with our equine and animal counterparts, participants develop self-awareness, awareness of others, connection, healthy communication skills, nervous system regulation, and mindfulness.
Groups are tailored to specific age ranges, serving youth from 7 to 13 years old.
Unwind with Equines
RMER partners with nonprofit organizations such as REVITAL to support first responders and their families through Equine-Assisted Growth and Learning experiences. These unique, hands-on workshops use guided interactions with horses to foster connection, resilience, communication, and emotional awareness.
Combining experiential learning with practical life skills, participants engage in a safe, supportive environment where they can strengthen coping strategies, build healthy relationships, and connect with peers who share similar experiences.
First Responders
Our school-based program is an Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL) program built on a hands-on, experiential approach. It's not a riding program — instead, we focus on the emotional bond between horse and student to facilitate growth and learning through equine interactions.
EFL sessions typically involve small groups of students and are tailored to each participant's needs, whether that's improving social skills, managing emotional regulation, or building leadership. Our team works alongside schools to support and strengthen their existing SEL programs. We've been proud to partner with local schools since 2018.
School-Based Programs
Community partner programs are custom-designed collaborations between RMER and local nonprofit organizations, small community groups, hospitals, and agencies. Together, we create meaningful, experiential learning opportunities that promote connection, resilience, emotional well-being, and personal growth.
These programs vary in their offerings — some are designed to support the individuals these organizations serve, while others focus on supporting the staff who work within them.
Previous partnerships have included the Boulder County Sheriff's Department, Boulder County Health and Human Services, SPAN (Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence), teacher retreats, and local hospitals.
